Neighborhood

The apartment is based in Tremona, a small village on the hillside of Monte San Giorgio UNESCO’s World Heritage Site.
Tremona has become well known for its archaeological excavations wich have uncovered the unique preserved remains of a hilltop settlement of a medieval village.
The Monte San Giorgio is counted among the world’s most important deposits of marine fossils of the Middle Triassic (247-235 milion years ago). More than 20’000 fossils have so far been extracted. There are about 25 species of reptiles, 50 species of fishes, over 100 species of invertebrates not to mention the various species of vegetation.
