In short:
Collection Weapons is developed by MF-Lab. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the Collection Weapons app on macOS, iOS, and iPadOS (including any companion Apple Watch or widget components distributed with it).
Collection Weapons is a personal cataloguing tool for firearms, accessories, ammunition, and — since version 2.0 — shooting sessions and your own shooter profile. When you use it, you create records that may include:
All of this data is stored using Apple's SwiftData/CloudKit framework in your own private CloudKit database, tied to your personal iCloud account. It syncs between your own devices (e.g. your iPhone, iPad, and Mac) the same way Apple's own apps do. MF-Lab does not operate any server that stores, receives, or has access to this data — we have no technical ability to read, export, or view your collection.
If you are not signed in to iCloud, or have iCloud sync disabled, your data is stored only locally on that device.
If you choose to attach photos or videos to a record — including a Shooting Session — the app can access your photo library, the Files app, or (on iPhone/iPad) your camera, only when you explicitly choose one of these options from the app's own "Add" menu, or from a Shooting Session's own camera button. Media you capture or select is stored the same way as the rest of your collection data (see Section 2); videos and photos captured for a Shooting Session are saved directly to your device's own Photos library rather than duplicated into the app's iCloud database, so as not to needlessly grow your iCloud storage. Nothing captured this way is ever transmitted anywhere else.
A Shooting Session has an optional GPS toggle, off by default. Turning it on for a session uses your device's location services (Apple's Core Location framework) to record that range's address and coordinates on that one record — only while the toggle is on, and only for that session; nothing is tracked continuously or in the background.
A separate, also optional, weather toggle sends that session's coordinates to Apple's WeatherKit service to fetch live conditions (temperature, humidity, wind, pressure) for that location and moment. This request is handled entirely by Apple, under Apple's own Privacy Policy (see Section 10) — MF-Lab does not operate any weather service of its own.
On iPhone models with a barometric sensor, the app can also read altitude directly from the device's own sensor — this reading never leaves your device and involves no network request at all.
If you choose a calendar in Settings, the app creates a calendar event for each Shooting Session, using Apple's EventKit framework — editing or deleting the session updates or removes that event automatically, so nothing is left behind in your calendar. Separately, setting an expiration date on a membership card creates a reminder in your device's Reminders app, kept in sync the same way when you edit or delete the card. Both live entirely in your own device's Calendar and Reminders apps — synced through your own iCloud account if you have that turned on, exactly like any other calendar or reminder you create yourself — and are never sent to MF-Lab.
Your Shooter Profile can be filled in entirely by hand, or imported once from your device's Contacts app — specifically your own "My Card" entry. This import happens only when you explicitly choose it, copies that information into your Shooter Profile record at that moment, and keeps no ongoing link back to Contacts afterward — a later change to your My Card does not automatically update what you've already imported.
Collection Weapons offers an optional app-lock feature using Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode. This authentication is handled entirely by Apple's LocalAuthentication framework, on-device. MF-Lab never receives, stores, or has access to any biometric data — we only receive a yes/no result from the operating system.
Collection Weapons Pro is an optional auto-renewable subscription offered through Apple's In-App Purchase system (StoreKit). All payment processing, billing information, and transaction handling is managed directly by Apple under Apple's own privacy and payment terms. MF-Lab never sees or stores your payment card details. We only receive confirmation from Apple that a subscription is active, which the app uses to unlock the relevant features on your device.
Collection Weapons does not include any analytics SDK, advertising network, or third-party tracking library. We do not track your activity across other companies' apps or websites, and the app does not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA). No usage statistics, crash reports, or behavioral data are collected by us.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. Two outside services are involved in the app's operation:

Collection Weapons is a firearms and ammunition cataloguing tool and is not directed at, marketed to, or intended for use by children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data, such as the right to access, correct, or delete it, or to receive a copy of it. Since your collection data is stored in your own iCloud account rather than on our servers, you can already exercise these rights directly within the app or through your Apple ID / iCloud settings, without needing to contact us. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect new app features. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
