Privacy Policy

App Version 1.0 Last Updated: 15 June 2026

1. Introduction

MF-Lab.com ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use VE-Display, an iOS and Apple CarPlay app for monitoring Victron Energy devices through Bluetooth Low Energy Instant Readout advertisements.

VE-Display is designed to work locally on your iPhone. The app does not require an account and does not send decoded Victron data to any server.

Short version: VE-Display does not collect personal data, does not use analytics, does not use advertising SDKs, and does not transmit your Victron advertisement keys or BLE readings outside your device.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

VE-Display does not collect, store on our servers, sell, rent, or share:

3. Information Processed Locally

VE-Display processes the following information locally on your iPhone:

This data is used only to display Victron device values in the iPhone app and on Apple CarPlay.

4. Advertisement Keys

Victron Instant Readout packets are encrypted. To decode them, VE-Display requires the advertisement key shown by VictronConnect for each device.

Advertisement keys are stored locally in the app's preferences using standard iOS storage mechanisms. They are not uploaded to MF-Lab.com, GitHub, Apple CarPlay, Victron Energy, or any third party by VE-Display.

You can remove keys from the app at any time, or delete all app data by uninstalling VE-Display.

5. Bluetooth Permission

VE-Display requests Bluetooth access to discover Victron BLE advertisements and read their manufacturer data.

6. CarPlay Integration

When your iPhone is connected to a compatible Apple CarPlay system, VE-Display can show a device list and detail screens on the vehicle display.

7. Data Storage

VE-Display stores only local app data needed for operation:

BLE readings are used as live values. They are not uploaded, synchronized, or stored by us in a remote database.

If iCloud device backup is enabled on your iPhone, Apple may include app preference data in your device backup according to Apple's own backup and privacy policies. MF-Lab.com does not control or access those backups.

8. Third-Party Services

VE-Display does not include third-party analytics, advertising networks, social SDKs, cloud databases, remote logging SDKs, or tracking frameworks.

The app uses Apple's system frameworks required for iOS, Bluetooth, local storage and CarPlay operation.

9. Supported Device Data

The app is currently designed for local decoding of Victron Energy BLE Instant Readout records verified with these device families:

Decoded values may include battery voltage, current, state of charge, consumed Ah, time-to-go, charger state, solar yield, PV power, input/output voltage and off reason, depending on the device and the BLE record type.

10. Your Choices and Rights

Because VE-Display does not collect personal data on our servers, we cannot provide server-side access, correction, export or deletion of personal data that we do not possess.

You remain in control of local app data:

11. Security

VE-Display relies on Apple's iOS app sandbox and local storage protections. Advertisement keys are stored locally as app preferences. Keep your iPhone updated, protected by a passcode, and under your control.

No software can guarantee absolute security. However, VE-Display minimizes risk by avoiding external data transmission and third-party tracking components.

12. Children

VE-Display is not directed to children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.

14. Disclaimer

VE-Display is provided for informational monitoring of Victron BLE data. It is not a certified electrical safety instrument, navigation instrument, or emergency system. Always rely on proper installed electrical protection, VictronConnect, official Victron documentation and qualified technicians when making configuration or safety decisions.
